Reverse of 1802. All 1802 half cents are overdates with the O clearly seen below the 2 of the date. They are also very scarce and truly rare when found in decent grades and problem-free. They are also unknown in mint state.
The present example showcases a sharply punched upward-sloping date and an early reverse die state. Toning across the obverse is refined and original, with a silvery-pewter base enveloped in delicate champagne-gold and russet hues around the denticles and stars.
Despite its general reputation as a common date, the 1915 is notably scarcer in top-end Mint State, particularly with CAC approval and vivid album toning. The reverse displays a brilliant golden core, encircled by rose, cobalt blue, and violet iridescence, forming a balanced, classic album-toning halo.
